The Love Dare

25 February 2012 by Tausha 3 Comments

If you know me, you know I love to read. And no, not just Twilight – or as of recently the Hunger Games. My real passion is ‘Self-Help’ books. When we lived in our rental home, we had lots more space (than we do in the apartment now)….and so we had 2 bookshelfs, and the ground surrounding them covered with books.
Novels, series, craft books, self help books, joke books. All kinds of books.
But, one of my largest collections of books was Relationship self help books.
I adore them. Our relationship is great, I’ve got no complaints. But everything can always get better, right?
I probably couldn’t list all of my favorite books – but I love reading them, and adapting things into our relationship. Whether it’s learning how to communicate, learning how to ask your spouse/partner for things, interpreting gestures, comments, and recipricating appreciation.
I watched a movie recently, “Fire-Proof” and the movie used a book called, “The Love Dare” to help bring a crumbling marriage back together.
I decided that I’ve got 40 days, and an amazing husband I can try it on.
So why not.
So, how about you join me?
40 days, (didn’t lent just start, give up being selfish and show your other some love!)
I will be posting a printable each day – and cannot wait to hear your comments on how things are going.

Remember, you don’t have to do these if your relationship is falling apart, just do them to rekindle the spark, to show your appreciate for your spouse, and to see if you’d like to incorporate anything new into your relationship!

This can be printed at 3.5 x 5, or stretched to 4×6 (might be blurry)
I’m printing them out and keeping them in a little notebook with some additional comments!
Good luck love birds!

OOh, I love that book! I bought it a few years ago…it’s amazing! I gave a copy of it to my mom (she basically hates my dad…but they’ve been married for 30 years!) and hoped she’d read it and do it, too. HECK NO. I don’t think she read past the first page. 🙁 I think it would have really helped. Sigh.

I really love things like this, and I like the first printable you’ve offered here. 🙂 I think I will wait a month and do this when Jason and I are actually married and living together. I think it will be great. 🙂 I’m a fan of relationship strengthening books / techniques / talks / etc., too. 🙂

Thought I’d share a fun November adventure we we Thought I’d share a fun November adventure we went on to @oliobonamini We were able to see the amazing process of making olive oil & here is a basic breakdown of how it works:

First, a machine shakes the olives from the trees. The olives fall to a net on the ground.

Then the leaves are removed & the olives are washed in regular water.

Next, The olives are dropped into another machine that works like little hammers crushing the olives (skin, meat, pit, water and olive oil all together)

This paste is then kneaded by another machine for 30-40 minutes to make separation easier.

The next machine takes the paste and separates the solid parts from the liquid parts .

The liquid parts go into another machine that separates the oil from the water and you are left with an UNFILTERED olive oil.

The oil then goes into giant tanks until it is time to be bottled!
