Chad doesn’t get many breaks from Dental School, so when we found out he was getting 2 weeks off during Christmas, we knew we had to go visit family. Presley is getting to this magical age where she understands so much & is so much fun to be around. She has been getting so excited this last month with all the Christmas lights up & learning about Santa (she says ‘Santa ho ho ho’) and we were so excited to share that with family. I enjoy flying with Presley now – her first few flights I was really nervous and even made apology bags just in case, but she is a HAM on flights. She waves at everyone (crazy because she is usually terrified of strangers) loves eating ice & playing on her iPad. This was our LAST trip without having to pay for Presley – I cannot imagine paying full price for her to fly, so I don’t think we will be going anywhere anytime soon!
We arrived late on Friday night (she literally fell asleep 5 minutes before we landed) & Presley was immediately fascinated with the Christmas tree & the little stage the fireplace gave her as soon as we got home. She was running around crazy and so excited to be in a fun new decorated for Christmas place!
Of course, with my luck – I ended up getting mastitis (if you are counting that’s 4x in the last 9 months) right before we left, but thankfully caught it before needing to be hospitalized but ended up spending the first few days in severe pain with horrible nausea – so was very excited to relax and get lots of napping in…..
Over the next few days, we had lots of adventures – Presley loved exploring behind Chad’s home with the puppies & was adorable all bundled up with her little mittens… We finished up Christmas shopping, visited Grandpa at work, and jumped in lots of Seattle puddles.
One night (of course one of the only nights it was pouring rain) we bundled up and went to Snowflake Lane. Every year for a few weeks there is a show that includes dancers, drummer boys & lots of mascot animals & SNOW (soap bubbles). It was amazing, loud Christmas music, fake snow & a little lady fascinated with everything. It felt magical.
Of course, we watched several Seahawks games & EVERYONE dressed up. Presley got a shirt from her Uncle Rick & I picked up a shirt during shopping so we all looked super official. Presley’s warpaint? She opened a tube of my mascara and put it on to look perfect for the game. We couldn’t take it off, it was too perfect. (Crazy that she knows what goes where right? She watches me every day!)
We had an amazing first week & anxiously counted down the days until Christmas morning…….
