Chad skipped school last Friday (rebel status!) and after doing some productive things that day, we decided to find something fun to do for the rest of the weekend. We packed up Chads van with the Queen-sized pillow-top mattress, a cooler full of food & lots of clothes, pillows, blankets, especially UK electric blankets & towels & ended up in Mesa next to this slow-flowing river & we had lots of adventures.
People float down the river on big tubes, but with Presley – we just fished, splashed, and did a few little hikes close to where we were & we all loved it. Our phones didn’t work, but we were still only 10 minutes from town if we did need to run to go get something, so it was perfect. It was so nice to reconnect and cuddle in the van & just be us three (and Dexter of course).
Presley loved the not so healthy breakfast snacks we brought. This girl has a sweet tooth worse than me! Powdered donuts & big chocolate chip muffins made this girl happy to wake up to breakfast & theres not better than a kid (who rarely eats) eating and being happy.
This was the best family picture we got. My camera on a timer, up on a pile of rocks while Presley was furious and screaming “no pitcher, no pitcher!” Hey, you can’t win em all.
If you know me, you know I freaking love to fish. Not so much the worm on the hook, or touching the fish. But I love the quiet, waiting, reeling & serene atmosphere of it all. So we brought our tiny poles & tried a few spots. Didn’t catch anything, but had a blast trying! (So did P!)
Perfect weekend, with my perfect little family.

I love that you all take adventures together. That’s how we are:) I feel like it definitely strengthens not only your family, but your marriage. Love seeing the love in these pics!
LOL – by the way, Marv was a little disappointed that Chad wasn’t going to be here for Elevate weekend…”What?! No Chad?!” HAHAHAHAHA
