Alright. THE POST. I know you guys have been waiting for this baby & it has taken me 3 weeks to get to it. Life is so crazy right now! November was my BIGGEST month of blogging. I had a post almost everyday & it has been by far the month I’ve received the most product, pitches, income & traffic. I’m totally loving it but I am so behind & so exhausted! I’m so excited for this upcoming month & the next year!
So. Part 1 of our LA weekend is HERE.
My love for Dancing with the Stars started years ago. I’m not sure exactly when, or why because I have NEVER been a dancer. I’m talking I didn’t even dance on our honeymoon cruise. But I just fell in love with the show. The costumes, the stars, following the journey they go on to become dancers. It’s just magical. So, another day, another season; Chad mentioned he had a classmate who is a brother of one of the dancers. I’m pretty sure the conversation quickly turned to me ripping his arm off while screaming, “WHICH GIRL DANCER?! TELL ME RIGHT NOW. WHAT IS YOUR FRIENDS NAME?”. I knew the instant he told me his friends name, who the dancer was. I’ve followed Jenna since she was on So You Think you Can Dance & have LOVED watching her on Dancing with the Stars (she should totally be a pro right now. I should email management). And I told Chad to casually mention it to his classmate that I was a bit of a fan. I emphasized to be casual because I didn’t want to come out looking like a lunatic right out the door. I did that myself, shortly after Chad talked with his classmate – I ran into him at a school BBQ. I didn’t know it was him until he introduced himself & I went into my crazy fangirl self. Oh man. Rookie move of the century. Look like an idiot to the brother of the dancer you love. Genius. He said he’d talk to her about getting tickets & I freaked out a little. There was A LOT of all capital texts sent to Chad that day.
Life happened, the implants came out. Andy came to town. My blog started growing. Family came to visit, we went on tons of adventures & then finally another season of heaven came on. I asked Chad if he could casually (again, very casually) bring up the ticket conversation with the brother & that next week I was told to ‘pick a date’. When I texted Leanne that we might be going to LA to see a LIVE showing of Dancing with the Stars, I’m pretty sure I was hysterical. Like is this real life right now? So, Leanne switched around her schedule – Chad worked with his schedule and BAAM. We sent a date. Then, the stars aligned and Jenna and I started texting (Chad triple checked every text before I sent it to make sure I didn’t sound like an obsessed lunatic) and then plans all came together. I’m pretty sure I’ve NEVER been more excited for anything in my entire life. If we had a conversation the month prior, I probably interrupted your life and brought it up. I seriously was a crazy ball of excitement waiting to go. (Also, Sorry for interrupting)
So, the big night came & after we were all dolled up we headed to a secret back entrance to meet Jenna. I’m pretty sure I started crying when I saw her walking up. I can’t remember too much. It’s all such a blur. Obviously the best part other than meeting Jenna, was that she said we could bring our phones in & keep them on until the show started. For a blogger, this was a freaking miracle to hear. I mean, I seriously needed pictures because I was crying like a lunatic (crying is my only go-to emotion) as she walked us past all the trailers, and she showed us all the dancers parking spots, where they record several other shows. She walked us through the back door, and through the Red Room to our seats. FOURTH ROW SEATS GUYS.
Then we sat down, took a million pictures because we were some of the first people in the entire place & I calmed myself down enough to be able to speak in full sentences again. Jenna came & talked with us & brought us water & was so freaking kind. Then, once the place filled up (we were sitting by Tony Dovolani’s parents!!) we got to go down to the dance floor and rock out to a few songs. It was INCREDIBLE.
Then, we turned off our phones & screamed our guts out for 2 hours. Seeing the show behind the scenes was INCREDIBLE. There is so dang much that goes into the show that you wouldn’t even know – it is breathtaking watching everything that goes into seeing what we get to see. We were Episode 10 – the episode that eliminated Andy 🙁
So, the magic happened after the show. We exited the building & then Jenna came to find us. She took us to the back exit were all the Pros & stars exit. It was like Christmas morning watching the door open to see who was coming out next. We got to meet & hug just about everybody & they were all so kind. It’s crazy that you watch these people dance for years & put them on this pedestal & then meet them & they are just the most amazing human beings. We got to meet Alison, Artem, Whitney, Lindsey, Alex, Twitch, Bindi, Carlos, Val (I died)…and I know we have better pictures than these, they are just lost somewhere in our 4 phones that were rapidly taking pictures like crazy people.
Oh lord. This man. HE KISSED MY FACE 9 TIMES. Yes, I counted. Yes, he smells like warm apples and cinnamon & I could have licked the sweat off of him if he allowed me too (Sorry Grandma if you are reading this). That man. I just. can’t. even. Lets just say there were lots of hugs, lots of kisses & a plethora of tears.
I just. I feel like I just have to end it there. Nothing can top being surrounded in Vals arms.
Except for maybe getting home to this gorgeous gal who danced on the table the entire time I watched the episode I was on. Can you spot me? (Top right corner) Oh, and the handsome husband I get to lick anytime I want without asking.
Now, can I text Jenna and ask to come back already? Too soon?
XO.
Anyways, Thanks for being here.
