Alright,I know. For book lovers this makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. How could you destroy such a beautiful book? But heres the thing. If you’ve read it twice & are getting ready to send to Goodwill to collect dust – it’s just a good idea to let it see the light of day and give it a new life. It’s like book reincarnation.
So, this project literally only cost me $1 (and the tips of my fingers & endless hours of rolling paper, 3 papercuts and a neck ache. But boyah for saving money). The only thing I didn’t have was the wreath, which we found at the Dollar Tree while wasting time this last week. This is a project at the very bottom of my To-Do list that I finally decided I would just do. I watched a few videos on YouTube and read a lot of different blogs to try and figure out any tips/tricks to getting the right looking rose, saving time, etc. It really is just as easy as it looks.
Rip pages out of the book. Cut into circles, cut that into a snake like circle, wind it up. Glue it on. Times one million. This project ended up taking A LOT of time. Rolling paper isn’t super exciting for a 3 year old, so I was on my own for this one. I would do a few here and there and get them attached – then would unplug the hot glue gun and go entertain Presley. Then come back in the afternoon and do a few more, etc, etc. So, best of luck finding time to do one of these. I literally had no idea it would take so long. But dang do I like the finished product.
And here it is in all of it’s rolled up glory:

Thanks for stopping by today! Happy HUMP day! XO

goodwill is where you buy cheap books, not send them. ;P Seriously though, I love the look of all the book projects out there but the only book that I am not emotionally attached to (Dust of 100 Dogs. I hated it so much, I don’t even loan it out.) is too new looking and not on the right kind of paper. 🙁
