Happy Monday! We have some pretty exciting adventures lined up for this next week (I say Disney – you say LAND) but don’t tell Presley….She has no idea. We are going to wait to tell her until the car is packed & we are headed out the door! I’ll record that reaction (follow me on instagram here). Also, I am seeing my dearest friend Renee & crossing my fingers we are a bone marrow match. Keep those prayers coming. So, before I start to pack & pray & squeeze in some sleep I wanted to show you this amazing Do-it-Yourself for those random air plants that are popping up everywhere. I actually swiped these from Elevate this year (Totally working on that very late recap next!) so I figured it was time to put something together. With inspiration from the amazing photographer Chrissy & of course, Vintage Revivals – I sort of smushed my way around their pictures & came up with these. Enjoy!
For your supplies:
Wire or even string could work (use what you have!)
Air plants – You can find some here (aff)
Then, go read Mandi’s tutorial. Seriously – it’s amazing and better than anyone could ever do. BUT, let me warn you. Once you visit that blog, it’s a time suck. Seriously I can’t let myself go or else it will be like 3 hours later & the house is a wreck, Presley isn’t fed & I have an impossible To-Do list of projects I can’t even do. She is incredible. Seriously my hero. So, the short version of this is: cut your straws the same length – use your wire or string to mold them into triangle-ish shapes & then secure. Paint. Hang. Pretty simple. Mandi goes all out – but I just wanted some tiny little air plant holders – for the plants that even though they just need air; I will still, somehow manage to kill.
Then, cover in paint – because always cover in paint. I’m on a gold kick lately. I was so anti-gold for years…..but now I am obsessed. Literally, it’s taking over. But thats okay, because gold isn’t going anywhere.
Then, use some twine, or fishing line & hang those babies up. I squeezed my air plants in and then stood back to admire. I’m pretty sure they need list a mist of water once a week or something; but no idea. I should totally look into that. At least they are cute for now huh?
And, that is that. Monday, over and out. Off to cover things in glitter & make some matching shirts for Disneyland.
If you are in the Anaheim/Duarte area & willing to donate blood and/or platelets to Renee. Please contact me for info.
If you like it, PIN it. Please. Pins = views = income = food for my child. Seriously y’all. Spread the love. XO
