This last month I had the opportunity to go to a blogger/girls night event here in Arizona. The Bright Night event is usually located in Utah so I was so excited when I saw it was coming here. The amazing hosts (Amy, Ashley & Haylie) put together an amazing afternoon of speakers, treats & of course a rad dance party that night. It was so refreshing to go meet some new friends & to shake my thang with no responsibilities for a night. I loved it.
As usual, the place was decorated and absolute perfection – bloggers are such talented & inspirational ladies. Seriously I think thats what I love about this community so much. There is so much beauty, passion, talent & inspiration just floating around in the air. After we had some snacks & met new friends we took our seats and heard from the keynote speaker Becki from the amazing blog WhippyCake. She is an Arizona native – so I’ve been dying to meet & listen to her speak. She is so spunky and bubbly it’s hard to not love her. Then we separated for classes, there were 4 speakers & you had to pick two! This was seriously SO hard.
The first set was Ashley LeMieux from The Shine Project. I actually heard her speak at a previous blogger meet up so I decided to go to the class by Lisa Funk from Hand Lettered Design. I met her at the Say Hi Society Meetup & was so excited to learn the basics of hand lettering. Her instagram is AMAZING if you want to be inspired and to learn some tricks about chalk art & hand lettering.
I went to the event alone & was a little nervous (#introvert at heart) but as soon as I arrived found out that Courtney was at the event as well. We have been blog/social media friends forever so I was so excited to meet her in person. She’s so cute & tiny – she’s like a real life barbie doll!
Next up was a tough choice between Natalie Norton & Kayti Oldham – I can always go for some one on one makeup tips, so I chose to attend Kayti’s class. I’m so glad I did because she was flipping awesome & I am also pretty sure she is my alter ego – the super happy, positive, don’t care what other people think about you self. I just loved her to death. Seriously girl crush status.
Then we headed back to the main room to see the tables gorgeously set up for dinner. We all pigged out & gorged ourselves on delicious food and Dr. Pepper. Nothing like delicious food, soda pop & making new friends. Once we all found each other on social media & learned about other niche’s and blogs we headed outside for a Photo Booth, sodalicious & the dance party.
Even the DJ got in on the wobble. It was amazing. We were all sweaty messes & it was great. We seriously danced for hours.
Then, after hours of sweating & booty popping, I headed home to shower & get to bed. Worth every penny & calorie I took in.
