Hey everyone! Stopping by today with an Explore Arizona post! It’s been a few weeks since we explored around this beautiful state so I thought I’d share this recent adventure. I didn’t want to share it at first because it ended up being a bust of a hike – but we still made the best of it and had fun. Chad is sort of in love with Tucson; but this is the second time I’ve been and haven’t been impressed at all. (You can see my first trip here) The trip worked out perfectly that is was over Mothers Day and while Chad and Presley explored around our campground, I was able to sit in the hammock and finish a book I had on my To-Be Read list! We arrived in Tucson mid-day and walked around the downtown area, got some sherbert and espresso and took pictures in front of all the gorgeous brightly covered walls.
After exploring downtown, we found a perfect camping spot and got set up. We scored all our wood for free from Home Depot & blew up our air mattress for the tent. We set up the hammock, cooked some dinner & then relaxed and headed to bed pretty early. We freaking froze our butts off. Presley and I huddled in Chads sleeping bag and just shivered most of the night. I have no idea how Chad made it out of the sleeping bag with just blankets. It was horrible enough we decided not to stay another night – nobody really got any sleep.
In the morning, the hike we headed to Tucson for was one I found online through a few searches. The pictures looked amazing & it had awesome reviews. I couldn’t wait – I’m a waterfall sucker and love that we have found so many waterfall hikes in Arizona. The hike was called Seven Falls and couldn’t have been more of a dud. I was so bummed out. It took us close to 2 hours to get to the trail head & when we did a group of people coming up from the hike said that the falls were completely dry! It was a short way down, so we did it anyway and wandered around for a little bit to make the horrendous off road event worth it.
Still a great adventure but not what we planned – just a great reminder to stay positive and to always find something to be thankful for. So, the question is – have you been to Tucson, do you recommend we visit again?

Hello, so I live in Tucson, as for the falls, they are suppose to be real nice (never hiked it myself) but the drought has been bad as you know for AZ.
But our air and space museum is nice and so is the desert museum. But sadly for such a big city we don’t have much

I live in Tucson. Seven Falls is really neat but only when there has been a lot of water. I have heard if you go to Madera Canyon’s Proctor Trail after a rain there is another really cool waterfall. I am waiting to go to that. Otherwise here in Tucson I would recommend Saguaro National Park (I like the West Side up near Marana) or Mount Lemmon.
