A few weeks ago, one of our good friends Jason was getting married so Presley and I packed up the car and headed to Omaha. It is only about 9-10 hours away so not a horrible drive, but too far for Chad to come with us – so it was a ‘girl cation’. I decided to split the drive up into two days because 9 hours with a toddler is more like a hundred with potty stops, snack stops or just leg stretching so it would be easier for both of us to do it that way. Plus sometimes it’s just nice to get away from the everyday to help you refocus.
On the way to and back from Omaha we stopped in Witchita Kansas and stayed at a Hotel that Jason got us a discount on. We got to swim in the indoor heated pool, and had a delicious dinner at Bjs before taking off in the morning to finish driving to Omaha.
We couldn’t wait to see Uncle Nic so we drove straight to his work to look around before heading home to squeeze Aunt Tori (first time since the wedding that we have seen her!). Nics work is absolutely INCREDIBLE to look around. The warehouse is giant and all the machinery and things they are able to do are just beyond my imagination. While we were an hour away I asked Nic about this sign I wanted to make and in just a few minutes he already had it planned and ready to go. Presley enjoyed a motorcycle ride and then a delicious dinner with Aunt Tori.
The next day was Jasons wedding. We couldn’t wait to go see our friend get married. There ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a blast. I am so thankful for this friendship and that we made it a priority to make it to the wedding.
We visited the Omaha Zoo which is absolutely incredible. I wish we lived by a Zoo like this one. We would be at it daily. I miss Arizona and being close to 2 zoos. I don’t think Lawton even has a Zoo! We explored the Zoo almost all day and still didn’t see everything there was to see!
We snuck in some shopping at the Outlets and Presley got her ears pierced! I got in a few trips to Michaels, Presley got grandma and grandpa time & it was the perfect little getaway for us. I’m pretty sure a 10 hour drive away is the closest we are to family, so hopefully we can get back soon!
