These aren’t the best pictures, but I figured some are better than none & since we were unable to make it home for the Holidays and didn’t get to see family that I’d share a recap of what our Christmas looked like! We had a very busy month and were able to have lots of fun and adventures even though we didn’t go home. We started off the month with two different Christmas parties, we even splurged and got some fancy Ugly Sweaters and my best friend Jori and I even got a double sweater to wear to one of the parties! Both of these parties were with our Dental family here in Oklahoma so it was fun to be around people we’ve gotten pretty close with over the last 5-6 months.
We went to a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Fort Sill and Presley got to write a letter to Santa and then give it to him personally. She wasn’t scared this year so that was a major parent win! She asked for a Hamster in a House this year and I think Santa pulled through! (You’ll have to see the video to see her reaction!)
Then we continued the Holiday festivities with our best friends and the girls created their own Christmas ornaments with supplies we found at the Dollar Store. They had a blast filling up the plastic ornaments with fake snow, pom-poms and lots of glitter. I then added vinyl to each one with their names. It was such a fun afternoon projects and definitely a little tradition I’d like to start doing yearly with Presley. We also baked and decorated Christmas themed sugar cookies – this is definitely a tradition we do with Presley for every major Holiday! It’s so much fun to see how creative the kids get (and the sugar high is pretty awesome too!)
Then, we visited the Chickasa Light Festival with friends and froze our bums off while looking around at all the beautiful lights. There were millions of lights, a walk through tunnel and delicious hot cocoa. Presley and I got to ride a camel and she absolutely loved it! We had an opportunity to ride a camel in Arizona countless times but Presley was always too scared so I jumped at this chance.
We were lucky enough to wake up one morning to half an inch of snow on the ground and quickly got on some layers and headed outside. Presley went absolutely crazy and had to be bribed to go back inside. It’s been freezing in Oklahoma but we have no snow to prove it – so this was such a fun surprise.
We had our best friends over for a Grinch Night and watched the movie and had homemade green white hot chocolate with Tim-Tam slams. The hot cocoa was delicious and crazy easy to make. (Recipe found here).
Christmas Eve Presley slammed her finger in the car door so she was in a bit of pain but we managed to make it over to our friends house for dinner and games while the kids played. Of course, Presley put out Cookies, carrots and milk for out for Santa and his reindeer and we couldn’t wait for Christmas morning. We all got matching jammies before bed and then woke up first thing to see that Santa had been to our house!
For Christmas dinner we had our friends over to the house and we had Ham and even made HomeMade Apple Cider and then played games. So, there we go! Christmas 2017! We were super bummed to not be able to see family, but we made the best of the situation and were lucky to get to spend so much time with our best friends here in Oklahoma.
Here is a little video I put together:
