A few months ago Grandma Terri texted us about a fun surprise she had planned for Grandpa Steve and we immediately got to helping pull it off! She planned (completely behind his back) a skiing trip to Mt. Bachelor in SunRiver Oregon to celebrate his Birthday. We used to have a yearly trip but life has gotten busy for everyone so it was the perfect plan to get everybody back together. As soon as Chad got out of school, we drove to the OKC airport, flew to Portland, rented a car and drove 4 hours to SunRiver to surprise Grandpa. We got in at around 5am and slept for a few hours before the fun began! We had a great weekend surrounded by family and definitely got our fill of movies, coloring, snuggles, swimming and skiing. It was so relaxing and so much fun getting to spend time with family since we didn’t get to spend Christmas together this year.
The weather was unbelievably gorgeous the first day we were all there so everyone skipped skiing for a day and we found a fun little hike that everyone could go on! The kids found a beaver damn, we found some bones & had a blast because outside exploring all together.
And, after some bribes we finally convinced Presley to try out skiing for the first time! It lasted about 20 minutes but we are still counting that as a major win in our book:
