Explore Texas – The Dallas World Aquarium

10 April 2018 by Tausha Leave a Comment

I decided it was time to go through pictures on my computer that I was dreading because I haven’t gone through them since we lost Dexter. I knew it would be hard, but I also knew I wanted to get these memories written down before I organized them and put them away on my hard drive. We had a long weekend and it was Chads birthday so we drove down to Dallas. We ended up loosing Dexter while he was at a pet sitters and the following day we went to the Aquarium. In hindsight I wish we would have been out searching, but we truly believed someone picked him up and was waiting until Monday to take him to a vet because the offices were closed on Saturday. We wanted to make sure Presley was having fun and needed something to get our mind off of loosing our boy. The Dallas World Aquarium was definitely on our things to do while we are here in Oklahoma so we figured it was the perfect time.

IMG_2494There was a crazy long line outside, but it went pretty quick and inside was absolutely packed but it was nice to move sort of slowly through everything. It was very warm and muggy and the lighting was beautiful. Presley absolutely loved looking at everything & it ended up being worth every penny. I’m glad we were able to cross it off of our bucket list.

See more of the adventures we’ve had while living in Oklahoma here.

Thought I’d share a fun November adventure we we Thought I’d share a fun November adventure we went on to @oliobonamini We were able to see the amazing process of making olive oil & here is a basic breakdown of how it works:

First, a machine shakes the olives from the trees. The olives fall to a net on the ground.

Then the leaves are removed & the olives are washed in regular water.

Next, The olives are dropped into another machine that works like little hammers crushing the olives (skin, meat, pit, water and olive oil all together)

This paste is then kneaded by another machine for 30-40 minutes to make separation easier.

The next machine takes the paste and separates the solid parts from the liquid parts .

The liquid parts go into another machine that separates the oil from the water and you are left with an UNFILTERED olive oil.

The oil then goes into giant tanks until it is time to be bottled!
