There is so much to do in Seville that it is hard to shorten the list down to what you can get to in a 48 hour time period but after doing lots of research on Pinterest (see my Seville board here), reading blogs, and looking at travel threads; I finally narrowed down the things we wanted to see in the 48 hours we were there.
Seville is AMAZING! I could have easily spent a week just exploring every single thing the city has to offer! Here is a list of the top few things I recommend you making a priority to see, lets dive in:
**If you have the patience, Mondays are a free day at several of these places of interest**
Tour the Bull Ring: Plaza de Toros has tours throughout the day and while you can buy tickets online, the tours are so frequent you can just buy tickets when you arrive. The line is never more than about 20 minutes and the tour is avaialble in a variety of languages via audio guide. Our 5 year old absolutely loved the tour & listened to the entire audio-guide. We were able to walk around the actual bull ring, after learning lots of history on the Bull Fights. During part of the year you can even watch a bull fight (Tickets range from 40-150pp and 6 bulls are killed every fight). Our 6 year old LOVED this as a fan of the Disney movie Ferdinand – nothing scared her and the tour only lasted just less than an hour so it was a good length for a little one.
Length of Tour: 45 -1hr
Cost: 5,50
Ticket: Purchase before or day of desired tour at the ticket office
Plaza de Espana: Or ‘Spain Square’ is an architecturally beautiful place to walk around, explore, listen to musicians and take a million pictures. Built in 1928 the square consists of most government buildings. Read about all the amazing facets of the square here.
Length: 1-2 hours or more if you’d like!
Price: Free
Maria Luisa Park:
Public park right next to Plaza de Espana is one of the most beautiful parts of the city and you could literally walk around for hours and still have so much to look at. I could have just stayed and read a book for hours! It’s free to walk around and a great place for a picnic or just a place to relax your feet before heading back out to explore the city.
Check out some amazing pictures of the Park from Next Bite of Life’s Blog here.
The Real Alcazar: This royal palace was built in 913 when Seville was under Muslim rule. You can see Roman ruins here and walk through the amazing gardens perfect for relaxing and snapping pictures. Several Game of Thrones scenes have been filmed here & when we went the line was SO long for Free Monday & then we found out we needed tickets in advance so we didn’t get to go. I was so sad I almost cried…..and then had some Sangria to cheer me up. So if you want to tour the Alcazar, BUY YOUR TICKETS BEFORE YOU GO (Even on free Monday you need an advanced ticket!)
Length of Tour: Varies – Allow 1-2 hours
Cost: 9,50 pp
Purchase Ticket: BEFORE BEFORE BEFORE here.

Seville Cathedral and La Giralda Tower: Third largest cathedral in the world and the largest of its Gothic Kind. Construction began in 1401 but origins go back to the 12th century. In 1987 is was registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Inside, you can find more than 500 works of art, the burial site of Christopher Columbus and even climb the Giralda Tower to get the most incredible view of the city. There is a full incredible audio guide, but with a Toddler a longer audio tour was not an option at this time – but we had a blast walking around (and getting lost) in the giant Cathedral. You can purchase a ticket to the Cathedral and the Bell Tower to get amazing panoramic views of the entire city.
Length of Self Audio Tour: 2 hours 10 minutes
Cost: 9 and free for children under 15 and discounts for seniors/students/disabilities
Tickets: can be purchased here beforehand for a quick entry
We waited in a crazy long line & it only took about 45 minutes to get from the end of the line to the ticket office.
The Metropol Parasol: You can get great amazing views from walking around the bottom, but if you’d like to purchase a ticket you can view the city from the top! There is restaurant on the top and you get a free drink with your entry ticket. The line moves very quickly so you can always go up within 15 minutes.
Length: 30minutes
Cost: 3
Ticket: Purchase at box office on main floor.
The very most exciting thing we did was to see a live Flamenco show! There are so many options for shows in the Seville Area but some are non kid friendly, need tickets far in advance – but we were very lucky to find one with snacks and a drink for around 70 euro pp (SO worth it!).
Other exciting things you could consider adding to your itinerary:
–Alcazar, Cathedral and Bell Tower Tour
-Museo Arqueologico de Sevilla
-Museo de Bellas Artes
–24/48 Hr. Hop On/Hop Off Bus Tickets
-Barrio Santa Cruz
-Mercado de Traina
– Torre del Oro
-Ladylike Lebrija Palace
–Game of Thrones 2hr. Guided Tour
For an idea on what food you need to go hunt down and find, (I mean – Tapas anyone?) check out this amazing post from Addie Abroad! I love food when traveling, but I am NOT a foodie so I’m good eating anywhere that looks delicious, or just grabbing delicious mini powdered donuts like these we found right outside Mary Luisa Park!
