I cannot believe we are only a few hours drive away from Slovenia! With a 4 day weekend we decided to go explore the Lake Bled area & are so glad we did! This was a great family friendly area with plenty of things to see and do during the quick break – it was just the right amount of time & we ended up lucky with NO rain even though it was forecasted to rain the entire weekend.
The first two nights we stayed at the cutest location – Glamping Bizjack – we found this through a travel page & with amazing pricing (€75 per night) and couldn’t wait to book it through booking.com here. They brought breakfast in a giant picnic basket to our front porch in the morning, had fish in two ponds to feed, a giant swing & even a restaurant on site.
Our first adventure in Slovenia was to visit/hike Vintgar Gorge! The Gorge is a walkable path that follows the Radovna River. Boardwalks cross the river created beautiful photo opportunities as well as incredible views of the clear water from above. The gorge ends up being about 3km roundtrip and is family friendly (although no strollers). To park your car in the lot is €5, and entrance fees are €10 for adults & €3 for ages 6-15. So we ended up paying €29 for this several hour adventure (well worth it!) Take a look:
