We celebrated Presley finishing Kindergarten with a summer trip to Pula, Croatia!!!!!!! This was probably one of my favorite trips to date – i also think I say that every trip we take – Pula was warm and beautiful and we ended up being at a perfect place that had everything within walking distance. We were able to shop for groceries to have breakfast in our room, and there were restaurants on site for lunch and dinner; The beach was within walking distance so we had so much fun soaking up the sun, snorkeling. The resort even had free child care – SCORE! We went on a night cruise and saw Dolphins, watched Gladiators fighting in the Arena, swam and did a Kayak Tour.
We drove to Pula right after Presley got out of school because the drive is only 3 hours! Insane that in 3 hours we made it for dinner, sunset on the beach and into another country. Italy is hands down the best location a person could ever live. We mostly spent our time close to our hotel because it had everything we needed but managed to still explore several areas of Pula. If someones is wondering ‘Why Visit Kata Beach‘ during the summers, then the beautiful sunset, the smell of sand and water and the cool breeze is of the of the exciting aspects of visiting the beach.
While we were sitting on the beach by our hotel we received a flyer for a Night Cruise and decided we would do it! The meal was incredible and we even got to see several dolphins while watching the sun set being out on the water. Presley went absolutely INSANE holding bread out to seagulls flying by that would swoop down and grab it right out of her hands!
After the night cruise we walked around town and found posters for a Gladiator Fight at the Arena the next night and planned to come back to see it. It ended up being incredible, we learned a lot about how Gladiators fought in the past and watched several matches from people in Gladiator school. It was awesome to watch and we definitely all lost our voices screaming for winners and whether the losers should be allowed to ‘live’ or not.
One of the days we ventured outside of the hotel and drove to Grotta von Pula which had the most beautiful views. The water was bright blue, but there was hardly any fish to see when we were snorkeling but it was still fun to explore a new area!
We found a Kayak Tour on AirBNB and were super excited to do it! We got an incredible arm workout, and got to kayak through a pitch black cave to the end. You can see more pictures from our tour HERE.
We had so much fun in Pula – we are definitely going back to explore more this upcoming year when its warm again! Thanks for stopping by to catch up on our travels! Adventure is out there.
