Finally sitting down to share some photos from our recent trip to London! We had friends that were planning to go & then a training popped up and separated them so we decided we would tag along and had fun spending a few low-key days exploring around. Our only set in stone plan was to visit Harry Potter Studio but otherwise we didn’t make any plans & ended up spending a day doing a Hop On/Off Tour Bus so we could make it to the hot tourist spots a bit easier! London is actually the only place out of the United States that I had been before we moved to Italy so it was kind of cool to be back in the same place I was 15 years ago (I remember nothing of that trip unfortunately!)
We found an awesome AirBNB that made for a great central point to getting to everything, plus, it had a fancy donut shop right across the street. Who can turn down a fancy donut before exploring?
I think the Hop On/Off Bus is an absolutely genius way to see everything in London. It stops at all the main sights & you can use it for 24/48 hours. We used Golden Tours and it was TERRIBLE. There were several companies and out of 20 busses, we only had 1 of the 20. I definitely recommend spending a little extra money to go with a well known company that you see frequently. There are several options here.
Definitely the highlight of our entire trip was a date night to see WICKED. Whitney watched Presley for the night while Chad and I got dressed up and went out! We splurged and got VIP tickets which ended up being totally worth it! When we arrived there was a line around the building to get in, we asked an employee which line to stand in and he promptly escorted us to the VIP lounge where we got welcome drinks, snacks and found out we had our own bathroom we could use. After our welcome, we were walked down and showed to our seats & during intermission we were able to go back to the lounge to order more drinks and to use the bathroom without waiting in a line! The show was absolutely incredible – I totally cried!
Sometimes it’s great to travel & just wander.
