The next leg of our Amalfi journey….(If you missed it I’ll fill you in really quick.) We had a break and wanted to stay inside of Italy so we wanted to spend a week relaxing in the Amalfi coast. We stayed in an amazing castle & explored the town of Civita di Bagnegerio before headed to the town of Sorrento. We toured Pompei & hiked Mt Vesuvius and now it’s time for a boat tour around Capri.
Some friends of ours recently did this exact tour so I sent a message to the company and set everything up via text message. We arrived to Capri that morning after a quick 20 minute pre-reserved ferry ride over & were super excited to get onto our private boat! We wouldn’t have minded being on a larger tour – but it was the same price for a private boat + skipper so we figured we could go more at our pace then at a tour with a group.
It was nice to be able to swim/snorkle and explore at our own pace – the only thing we would have changed would be our skipper. He was NOT having a good day and barely spoke with us. He’d park the boat & we’d just look at each other like ‘okay, we can swim now I guess?!”. It was a bit awkward and I wish we had somebody who would have given us some more history or been more personable.
At the end of the day, we were thankful to be able to take a lap around Capri, to swim into grottos and cave systems & to soak up the sun as a family.
Now, it’s time for a relaxing beach day before we move from our Airbnb in Sorrento to a new hotel in Positano. Thanks for stopping by!
