Last weekend we headed to Prescott where the temperatures were about 20 degrees cooler and only an hour and a half away. We had such a fun weekend I’d thought I’d share some details about our trip – because it was so amazing.
We got rained on on the way there, we had to pull over under an overpass to cover our softcover rooftop storage with the rain fly and Chad was literally soaking wet after 2 minutes out. It was incredible how much water there was and how fast it came on. We hung around Prescott for a few hours & enjoyed Pizza on the patio while the weather calmed down. Then, around 9pm we decided we would try and go find a camping spot and see if we could set up and make it through the night staying somewhat dry. Thankfully the campground wasn’t that wet & we were able to get set up and go to bed right away.
We found a new spot to camp and it quickly became my favorite; it was really close to a highway it had a gas station (morning coffee!) and a free hot shower. So needless to stay, we stayed two nights & had so much fun. Plus, it was only $12 a night to camp and is a great spot for families. There is a playground, lots of places to fish, water activities and a huge grass area where you could set up some fun games or a picnic.
The best part about our weekend in Prescott, a HUGE group of our Dental School friends ended up coming to Prescott & we had a huge BBQ hangout. I’ll share pictures from that tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by – Remember, Adventure is out there!

Gorgeous! I’m not a big fan of camping, but I’m all for going on adventures and discovering new places.
