EXPLORE THAILAND – KOH LANTA

21 January 2020 by Tausha Leave a Comment

Our Hotel

After our stops in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Krabi we headed to Koh Lanta to enjoy even more beach time! Our hotel was situated at the very end of the beach and so everyday we would walk down the beach to go find a new place to eat. We had our own private bungalow at the Kaw Kwang Resort (I shared some videos of it on my Instagram highlight reel). The hotel also had an amazing pool, and a restaurant bar that we relaxed at during the day.

The bungalows were right on the beach, but a tricky part of the beach because of pokey stuff during low tide. No soft sand so we had to walk aways to get to nicer sand and some fun restaurants. We found an awesome place that had delicious Acai Bowls, and another restaurant with cozy loungers we stayed after dinner for some drinks and played games while we waited for it to get dark enough for a fire show.

Four Island Tour

One of the days while we were in Koh Lanta we found a 4 Island tour from Get your Guide and had an absolute blast! We snorkeled at every stop and saw tons of fish & we swam through a pitch black cave to a circular private little beach surrounded by cliff walls. We watched an incredible sunset on a beautiful beach filled with long tail boats and fellow travelers. Then headed back to our hotel but not before we got to get in the pitch black water to swim with bioluminescent plankton and it was pretty insane.

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. I love being on the beach and in the sun. It fills up my cup & this trip is sure doing just that.

Thought I’d share a fun November adventure we we Thought I’d share a fun November adventure we went on to @oliobonamini We were able to see the amazing process of making olive oil & here is a basic breakdown of how it works:

First, a machine shakes the olives from the trees. The olives fall to a net on the ground.

Then the leaves are removed & the olives are washed in regular water.

Next, The olives are dropped into another machine that works like little hammers crushing the olives (skin, meat, pit, water and olive oil all together)

This paste is then kneaded by another machine for 30-40 minutes to make separation easier.

The next machine takes the paste and separates the solid parts from the liquid parts .

The liquid parts go into another machine that separates the oil from the water and you are left with an UNFILTERED olive oil.

The oil then goes into giant tanks until it is time to be bottled!
